The classic daiquiri cocktail is known to have originated in Cuba; however, there is some debate about where this frozen, fruity variation was first made. One thing not up for debate is how absolutely scrumptious it is. The secret to this recipe is using frozen strawberries. It makes all the difference in taking this beachy cocktail to the next level. You can freeze your own, or buy a bag at the grocery store. It eliminates the need for ice, and makes the flavor amazing! No watered-down drinks here!
Ingredients:
1 cup Frozen Strawberries
2 oz. White Rum
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup
1/2 oz. Dark Rum (optional)
1 Tbsp Sugar (optional)
Lime slices (optional)
Directions:
Pour sugar on a small plate.
Run a slice of lime slice along the rim of a glass, then dip or roll in sugar to coat.
Add strawberries, white rum, lime juice and simple syrup to a blender or Ninja and blend until smooth.
Pour liquid into glass, then slowly pour dark rum over the top.
Garnish with a lime slice.
Serve in:
Any cocktail glass
