The Classic Margarita has a special place in the cocktail hall of fame. A little sour with just a hint of sweetness...shaken, on the rocks, or frozen. Margaritas just make me happy! I have been in search of the perfect margarita recipe for quite some time. With just a few ingredients, it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult. HOWEVER, if you don't balance out the parts, it can spell certain disaster! I believe I have hit the jackpot with this one, and I have a feeling you'll agree.
Ingredients:
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Grand Marnier or other Orange Liqueur
1 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1/2 - 1 oz Simple Syrup
Lime slice
Kosher Salt or Sea Salt (optional)
Directions:
Use a piece of the cut lime to wet the rim of your glass.
Pour a thin layer of salt onto a small plate and press the rim of the glass onto the plate.
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake a few times.
Pour over ice.
Garnish with a slice of lime.
Variation: If you don't like large ice cubes in your drink, try it shaken. Add crushed ice to the cocktail shaker and shake until your hand gets cold. Pour into your glass and enjoy!
Serve in:
Margarita glass or tumbler
